I'm halfway through reading Alliances, and Thrawn in the canon books from what I've read currently is far more nuanced and well written compared to Legends. He's still great in Legends, don't get me wrong, but I love how in canon, Thrawn is a lot more of an anti-villain, rather than a traditionally evil villain which he's more like in Legends. Absolutely loved Thrawn (2017) and really liking Alliances so far. I'll definitely be reading the Ascendancy trilogy at some point too. This video just gets me more hyped to keep reading the canon books

Just stumbled back onto this video over two years after I first saw it. I haven't kept up with the the recent series of prequel Thrawn novels revealed more about his backstory with the Chiss Ascendancy, so I don't know what seeds Timothy Zahn planted in those books. But now that Thrawn is back in the Ahsoka show, I'm honestly a bit worried that Dave Filoni and co. are gonna just turn Thrawn into yet another Imperial big bad guy for the heroes to defeat instead of delving into this much more interesting take on the character where his ultimate loyalties are not to Palpatine's empire. Oh well, there's two episode left of Ahsoka as of me writing this. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

This video/edit is ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!! I love it in EVERY way. In the past year I've read both the Ascendancy trilogy and Thrawn trilogy and came to love him as a character sooo much. I find everything you said in your pinned comment super interesting, so much so that I want to go and rewatch all of his episodes in Rebels now lol. I am INCREDIBLY NERVOUS as to how they will treat his character going forward in the Mandalorian and the Ahsoka series.

the funny thing is that Thrawn is not really a Imperial Loyalist, he don't ever like the empire, he just think that the empire is the best ally for his people, what he is not wrong, Star Wars show again and again how The Republic and The New Republic are not only easily corrupted, but also extremely slow and innefective, and general way the are more like a vulnerability than a potential ally. so he support the empire because the empire can help his people, the rebels and the new republic can't not.

The majour plot hole in this thought pattern is that Cheerie sensed the Mages prescence in Ascendancy due to her third sight connection. But Thrawn not only did'nt have any sense for the Bendu AND Ezra calling upon the space whales but he looks at the Bendu with no connection between them and even says later on canonically that the "Force is an Enigma to me." Theres also the fact that Skywalker children are almost never Male. Plus on a personal note I really like that Thrawn isnt force sensative at all but hes also a super succesful character within the universe. Its nice to know you dont have to win the space lottery to be a powerful figure in SW. Even most of the main characters of the sequels were given force sensativity for some reason.

I got so excited after watching the Mass Effect 4 teaser trailer that I went out and bought the Mass Effect Legendary Edition trilogy and Andromeda. I just finished the Legendary Edition and now I'm on my Andromeda journey. I get that Andromeda isn't necessarily connected to the original trilogy, but I like the idea of a game based on the Mass Effect universe without Commander Shepard or Reapers. Because of expectations maybe they shouldn't had called it Mass Effect Andromeda instead they should had called it Andromeda then in small print "Based on the Mass Effect Universe." Another reason why I'm playing Andromeda is because in the beginning of the ME4 teaser trailer the 1st thing they show is the Andromeda and the Milky Way galaxies so I have a feeling BioWare will tie in Andromeda to Mass Effect 4. Either way I'm so happy that the Mass Effect we all love will continue.

Fun fact: At the beginning of the trailer when we’re about to enter the Milky Way galaxy the other galaxy behind it is actually the Andromeda galaxy Because of that lots of people believe that the next Mass effect will be a sequel to the Shepard games but also the Andromeda game.
